Patrick McDonnell, creator of the comic strip MUTTS, can be seen in the new documentary, “STRIPPED” about the future of printed comics. The film is, “the ultimate love-letter to comic strips. It brings together the world’s best cartoonists to talk about the art form they love, and what happens to it as newspapers die.”
The movie made it’s cinematic debut at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood on March 26, 2014. Some additional upcoming screenings are scheduled for theaters and it’s available for download on iTunes. Find out more about how to see it here.
In addition to Patrick, comic legends such as Bill Watterson, Cathy Guisewite, Stephan Pastis, and dozens more were interviewed. Set to a score by Stefan Lessard of Dave Matthews Band, the movie, “explores comic strips in depth, why they’re so loved, and how they’re navigating this dicey period between print and pixels.”
