“The Skunk” Makes NYT Best Illustrated Children’s Books List

Books & Art

The picture book The Skunk, written by Mac Barnett and illustrated by Patrick McDonnell, has been chosen for the New York Times’ prestigious Best Illustrated Children’s Books list for 2015. A tradition begun in 1952, ten books are chosen each year as the best of the best.

Add this to the list of accolades for the book – it’s earned starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Horn Book and School Library Journal.

This honor isn’t new for Patrick; his Caldecott-Honor winning picture book Me … Jane made the list back in 2011 and four of his other picture books have been New York Times best sellers.
