Follow Fur-Day: Cats Without Jobs, Rescued Farm Animals, and Vegan Cooking

News & Events

It’s Follow Fur-Day! That means it’s time to share a few of our favorite animal advocates, rescue groups, and humane influencers. We love following these accounts and think you will, too. Enjoy!

Cats Without Jobs

We’re not quite sure how to explain this account, but we know we love it. On the Cats Without Jobs website, you can find instructions for building your own DIY Up The Wall Cat Climber™ (which is “so easy a dog could figure it out”). You’ll also find information about the site’s “authors” — Mamacita, Bonita, and Bunny — who describe themselves as, um, “experts with power tools” and “unemployment enthusiasts.” Give it a look and get ready to laugh. (And don’t forget to check out their Instagram, too. That’s where the really funny stuff lives.)

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary

Located in Woodstock, New York, this non-profit sanctuary began in late 2004 when couple Jenny Brown and Doug Abel rescued a small group of chickens and an abandoned rooster. Over the next 12 years, Jenny and Doug raised enough funds to transform an unfenced hay field into a safe home for not only chickens but also cows, sheep, goats, ducks, rabbits, and more. To date, they’ve rescued hundreds of animals — some of whom stay at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary for life and some who are adopted into loving forever homes.

Jenny and Doug regularly host visitors, volunteers, and school field trips at the sanctuary. In their own words, they hope to “connect animals with people to advance veganism, and advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements.” You can follow Woodstock Farm Sanctuary (and its adorable residents) on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Plantifully Based, a true gem for those who enjoy eating with their eyes, was founded by a 24-year-old vegan food and health vlogger named Francesca. Her aesthetic culinary creations range from healthful party platters and fruit bowls to satiating entrees like soup and pasta.
