It’s Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving and generosity! To recognize this important occasion, here’s an overview of how your support has enabled us to give back to causes we care about in 2020.

Print Donations

For many years, MUTTS has donated signed comic strip prints to animal-related nonprofits for raffles and other fundraising events. Each print raises an average of $150 — though some have raised over $1,000! In the past 12 months, we’ve donated more than 70 signed prints to help shelters and rescue groups. (If you’ve noticed that this number seems lower than in years past, you’re right. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, many organizations were forced to change or even cancel their fundraising events in 2020, which meant we received fewer requests than usual.)

Support for the Animal Rescue Team

Additionally, we contribute a portion of every MUTTS purchase to the Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Rescue Team, which saves animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, natural disasters, and other instances of cruelty and neglect. Below are just a few examples of how this incredible team has helped animals in recent months.

In February, the Animal Rescue Team saved more than 140 dogs from a severe neglect and hoarding situation in Florida. With help from shelter partners such as Nassau Humane Society, the surrendered animals were finally able to receive care and veterinary attention — as well as the opportunity to spend the rest of their lives with families who will give them the love they deserve.

In August (and throughout the 2020 hurricane season), the team assisted coastal shelter partners — such as the Humane Society of South Mississippi, pictured below — in evacuating adoptable animals from the dangerous paths of incoming storms.

In October, members of the rescue team reunited lost cats with their families following wildfires in Oregon. Wildlife expert Dave Pauli (who MUTTS interviewed in 2017), led this project, which you can learn about in the video from HSUS below.

Thank You for Caring About Animals

At MUTTS, we’re proud to help organizations that do so much good for animals — but we know it wouldn’t be possible without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting MUTTS and our mission to make the world a better place for all creatures.
