If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the history of comics, there’s no better time than now with King of the Comics: 100 Years of King Features. It’s aptly titled: a century of history, art, and stories make up the almost 300 pages between its hard covers.
The launch of this book was accompanied by a special panel at this year’s NY ComicCon, featuring our Patrick McDonnell of MUTTS, Jeff Keane (The Family Circus) and Brian Walker (Hi and Lois), Hilary Price (Rhymes with Orange) and Ray Billingsley (Curtis). Brendan Burford, who is King Features’ editor, hosted the panel.
From the early days of comics to the digital age, this book reads like a who’s who of the brightest and best of the funny papers. Make sure to check it out!
