Hello, friends!

Can you believe we're already almost halfway through the year? With summer just days away, we at Team MUTTS are spending more of our spare time enjoying the great outdoors and reflecting on the beauty of the world around us.

This one, beautiful planet of ours (and the animals and people who inhabit it) are in need of protecting. Which is why we are proud members of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, individuals, and nonprofits tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues.

As members, we commit at least 1% of annual revenues to partner charities working to ensure our planet and future generations thrive — in addition to the shelter and rescue organizations we already support. We’re proud of our contributions (and strive to continually do more) but we know these accomplishments wouldn’t be possible without your support. Read on to learn more about the incredible organizations we help to support through 1% for the Planet.

Jane Goodall Institute

Delivering on the vision of founder Dr. Jane Goodall, JGI is the leading science-driven organization advancing understanding and protection of chimpanzees, global wildlife, and their habitats, creating a better world for people, other animals, and the planet we share.

Project V.E.T.S

Project V.E.T.S. collects veterinary equipment, technology, and supplies, and distributes those items to 100+ animal welfare partners in 38 countries around the world. This program serves animals ranging from dogs and cats to elephants and pangolins, and prevents up to six tons of usable, lifesaving items from ending up in landfills each year.

Mercy for Animals

Mercy for Animals is a leading international nonprofit working to end industrial animal agriculture by constructing a just and sustainable food system. Active in Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, and the United States, the organization has conducted more than 80 investigations of factory farms and slaughterhouses, moved more than 300 food companies to adopt animal welfare policies, and helped pass historic legislation to ban cages for farmed animals.

Greater Good Charities

Greater Good Charities is an international nonprofit that works to Amplify the Good around the world, helping people, pets, and the planet by mobilizing in response to need.

In addition to supporting Greater Good Charities through 1% for the Planet, we recently teamed up with them to send much-needed pet bowls to Ukrainian refugees and their furry family members. We enabled a pop-up on our website checkout page that will ask you to donate a stainless steel bowl, and we'll cover the rest of the cost to get them into the hands (and paws) of those who need them most. There are just a few more days to support this initiative before the next shipment makes its way overseas — head to the Shop and add a bowl (or a few) at checkout!

Thank you for your continued support of our team and the causes that are important to us. We couldn't do this without you!

Hugs and wags,

Team MUTTS

Dear Patrick,
I have been so moved by the content of your strips this week, I was compelled to write and post a comment. I myself adopted a senior Plott Hound named Katy from a shelter here in NJ in 2017, but she had been transported north from West Virginia. I had NO idea until I adopted her and did my “homework”, that there was a such a severe overcrowding problem in the Southern shelters. Plus, I learned that dogs, especially coonhounds, are treated much differently in that part of the U.S. It was an eye-opening experience and adopting Katy changed my life! After Katy died two and a half years ago, I adopted another hound, Sunny, from a rescue group here in NJ, but I had specifically sought out a hound that originated from the South. Sunny had been found under a porch in Georgia with her 8 puppies, and again was transported north.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for showcasing that we have many worthy, loveable dogs from the South in need of a good home right here in your and my home state of NJ (as well as much of the Northeast!)! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for my daily Mutts comic. It’s the first thing I look at each morning. I enjoy them so much. 😊❤️

I always like reading the quote of the day with each morning’s cartoon and passing it on to others who do not subscribe to your column. London Canada

Dear Patrick,
Mutts email is the first I open every morning. I often share the comic or the saying of the day with the shelters and rescue groups I am involved with in my area. Your work is enlightening and enjoyable . I have much gratitude and respect for what you do. Spreading awareness to help the animals and environment is of great importance to me. I look forward to finding out about your time spent with the Dali Lama .
Joy and Peace to you and your team.

Good morning Patrick & Team Mutts! It renews my faith in business’s that “ give-back”. Have to! The planet is in such need. I’m an animal activist and I’m always thankful when I see who Mutts contributes to. Animal AG around the globe is brutal and abusive to the animals and our precious planet. Thank you, thank you for always putting a smile and a chuckle at the beginning of my day….I cannot begin a day without “the Gang”❣️Blessings and joy to all of your efforts and endeavors! ❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾❣️🌟☀️☕️
