Last year, Team MUTTS again donated five percent of every sale to The Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Rescue Team, and separately assisted over 100 animal shelters and rescue groups in their fundraising efforts. We teamed up with Petco Foundation for the annual “Love Changes Everything” campaign and for an adoption rally in New York City’s Union Square Park. (More than 200 animals were adopted in one day!) We also hosted a pilot for our soon-to-be-launched Social for Shelters program.
As we look back on 2018, we’re enthusiastic to be able to do even more for animals in 2019.

In 2018 we spoke with many of our talented, animal-loving friends for the MUTTS blog. We interviewed Susanne Kogut (Executive Director of Petco Foundation) and Heather Cammisa (President and CEO of St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center) about the various ways their organizations help animals in need. We also spoke with Charles Rolsky, a PhD student and a longtime MUTTS reader whose research on microplastic pollution has made national headlines.
As you may remember, a few members of Team MUTTS also shared first-person accounts of their own experiences throughout the year. For instance, in October, our art director Elena Nazzaro shared this piece about a Girl Scout project designed to help bats in her New Jersey community. In March, our social media associate Amanda Hershey wrote this essay about a trip to Thailand, where she and her family learned about animal tourism and elephant conservation.
In addition to swapping plenty of heartwarming stories and posts with our community of MUTTS lovers, we were also happy to have a successful year at the animal-friendly MUTTS Shop!
Our most popular items last year were our 2019 Wall Calendar and Desk Calendar, both of which are made with reforested paper and feature a Shelter Stories theme. The next-most-popular items, in order, were our Little Pink Socks (for Human Paws), our Wuv & Kisses Socks, and every kitty’s favorite plaything — our Little Pink Sock Catnip Toys!
Of all the MUTTS prints ordered in 2018, the best-selling ones were our Personalized Comic Strip Prints. (Yesh! Way to give the gift of MUTTS!)
