Hello, friends!

It seems like just yesterday we were counting the minutes, waiting for the clock to strike midnight and the calendar to read "2023", but here we are, already two-thirds of the way through February and with a lot of updates to share.

At the end of last month, Patrick's long-awaited collaboration with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Heart to Heart, was released! We have been eagerly awaiting this beautiful book and the messages it shares with the world.

To celebrate its release, we launched a beautiful new site for the book that offers the complete backstory and fun insights! There, you can find reviews, news, and links to interviews, including a panel with none other than Richard Gere, who chairs the International Campaign for Tibet Board of Directors.

In Heart to Heart, one of its core messages is a call for a compassionate revolution — a movement that inspires us to remember that we're "all members of a single family sharing one little house." To start this revolution, we want you to submit a note sharing a compassionate act — big or small — and you could win a free copy of Heart to Heart. Learn more in our recent blog post!

Then, earlier this month, Patrick announced his next book (yesh, already!), and we can't contain our excitement at the prospect of two book releases this year! Coming in just seven months is an exciting new collaboration with Marvel Comics. The Super Hero's Journey, published by Abrams ComicArts, will hit the shelves on September 26, 2023. Patrick's entry into the Marvel-Verse is a stunning and heartwarming adventure that we can't wait for you to see. Check out the full announcement to learn more!

As for Team MUTTS, we've been keeping ourselves pretty busy as well! Lately we've been putting the finishing touches on Yap, a MUTTS online community where animal lovers and MUTTS readers can come together, share stories, swap ideas, and build new friendships. Keep an eye out for more information (and your invitation to start yapping) in the coming weeks!

Finally, we're working on new goodies to show off your animal-loving nature. This year, we've got big plans for all-new product lines as well as reimagined favorites. It's with your support that we're able to give back, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

In addition to our ongoing support of shelters and rescues, we've renewed our pledge as a proud member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, individuals, and nonprofits tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues. Through 1% for the Planet, we have already supported the Jane Goodall Institute, Project V.E.T.S., Mercy for Animals, and Greater Good Charities!

We're so excited to see all of our big plans for 2023 begin to unfold and we couldn't be happier to have you along for the journey.

Wishing you nose nuzzles and tail wags,

Team MUTTS

I also would like an update on Guard Dog. I know he represents chained dogs, but he deserves to become a rescued dog. He’s waited so long, it’s time. He could be one of the ultimate Shelter Stories, being rescued, brought to a shelter and ending with Doozy taking him home for good. Please consider a path like this for him.

Marilyn Weber

Please release Guard Dog and let Doozy adopt him.

After reading this, I thought of the same thing, releasing Guard Dog from his chains. Kudos to you Patrick, on being part of the MARVEL UNIVERSE! That is a major coup! I can’t wait to see you at the 92nd street Y next month, as I haven’t seen you in person in a long time! YESH!

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful Heart to Heart is. I highly recommend it to everyone. After reading it, I had to buy it for my grown children. I look forward to Yap, The Super Hero’s Journey and everything Mutts. Thank you for all you do!

A couple years ago, Patrick said he was going to release Guard Dog from his chains. Do you know when that will happen? Thank you.
