What ‘Love All Animals’ Means to MUTTS
MUTTS creator Patrick McDonnell has explained that drawing his comic strip is what helped him to recognize the thoughts, feelings, personalities, and plights of the animals with whom we share our world. He says: “Seeing the world through the eyes of a dog or a cat and other animals, I started realizing how tough animals had it on this planet."
This is why compassion for ALL creatures is at the heart of MUTTS. Through the years, Patrick has used the strip and its characters to gently address a wide range of issues that affect animals — from raising awareness and support for pet adoption and animal shelters to illustrating the harms of factory farming, climate change, pollution, habitat degradation, and animal tethering.
