Hello, friends! It seems like just yesterday that Patrick was away on his book-writing sabbatical, but — can you believe it? — we're already a month and a half in to 2022, and Mooch and Earl are back with new adventures.

In case you missed ’em, here are a couple of Patrick's newer comic strips that have already risen to the top of our "reader favorites" list:

MUTTS comic strip featuring a caterpillar turning into a butterfly

MUTTS comic strip featuring Ozzie and Earl the dog in a snowy wintery scene

Here at Team MUTTS, our paws have been busy creating some exciting goodies that will be coming soon to the MUTTS Shop. In the coming weeks and months we will be revealing a fresh selection of spring-themed greeting cards, a new jigsaw puzzle based this 1996 comic strip, a new kitchen towel and pot holder set (a first for the MUTTS Shop), and other exciting additions.

Speaking of that kitchen set — we'd like to extend a big "thank you" to everyone who answered our product design polls on Facebook and Instagram! Our goal is to create goodies that'll add more MUTTS joy to your daily routine, and your feedback played a big part in helping us choose the final designs.

Interested in more product polls? Want more opportunities to share your thoughts with us? Let us know in the comments!

As Patrick mentioned in his letter last month, the first annual Tripawd Awareness Day ("Triday") is coming up soon on March 3. This online celebration is hosted by the nonprofit Tripawds Foundation, which offers an array of resources and support for parents of three-legged pets. You can learn more about the organization, or share your own tripawd journey, at Triday.pet.

In a recent post on social media, we shared an image of Mooch with his beloved Little Pink Sock, and posed the question: What are your simple pleasures in life?

As always, your responses made us smile: The joy of coming home to your pets after work. "Diamond days" when sunlight sparkles on the snow. Watching the sun rise while listening to the birds waking up. Crisp sheets fresh from the clothes line. The smell of freshly brewed coffee. Newspaper clippings.

Simple pleasures really are the best kind, aren't they? Hope you enjoy lots of them today, or sometime very soon.

Hugs and wags,
Team MUTTS

On today’s panel (2/28/2022. I always imagined that Mooch was born on February 29th, because he’s so eternally young and kittenish and curious. He can’t be more than 25 years old. He must have had only 5 (or perhaps) 6 birthdays since he arrived in the Mutts neighborhood. Happy Un-Birthday, Mooch!

I too start the day with Mutts. Often with Tony and Ruby, my canine companions, under my feet. And always with my late mother’s memory close as she is the one who introduced me to Mutts 25 years ago. The simple pleasures listed above are so true!
Love the idea of a red Mutts baseball cap…

Have been reading “Mutts” for many, many, many years. It’s one of my all time favorites. It has an a classic, innocent look and feel, that comforts the soul, while giving you a laugh and smile. It literally makes my heart smile. Thank You Patrick, for creating such a wonderful cartoon, with endearing characters, that are based on reality. “Mutts” and “Peanuts” are my top two. 💜💜💜

I love Mutt’s and Mooch and check them every morning. My favorite is any strip that includes Mooch and his little pink sock. And I don’t have any pets so your column serves as my pets.

Check Mutts everyday – they are so true and calming and lovely. I have had several dogs and have none at the moment
so this helps with my fur friend loneliness. So thank you for all you do for me and others.

First thing in the morning I check the Mutts. Best way to start the day..with a smile.
Thank you. Patrick and Team.

I love the gentleness, kindness and love that Mutts projects. I have been cutting out Mutts strips for years and now I have 37 little notebooks full of them. Of course, I have the books, too! Thank you Patrick!

These critters make me smile all day. My garden flags make me smile and my neighbors enjoy them as well.
