It’s Follow Fur-Day! That means it’s time to share a few of our favorite animal advocates, rescue groups, and humane influencers. We love following these accounts and think you will, too. Enjoy!
Real Happy Dogs — and Real Happy Cats — are the creations of award-winning documentary photographer Milla Chappell. The daughter of two veterinarians, she’s always had a deep love for animals and is now the adoptive mom of two boxers. Milla is based in NYC, has been featured in a variety of publications, and books photography sessions through her website. “Since my sessions are largely unposed,” she says, “I don’t take many sit-stay-look portraits but mainly focus on playing with and enjoying the [animals] in their natural environment.” We’re totally not jealous of Milla’s job at all. Nope. Not at all.
Lush is a handmade, 100% vegetarian cosmetics brand that’s dedicated to ethical buying, reusable and/or recycled packaging, and — most importantly — fighting animal testing. The company’s products range from its ever-popular fizzy “bath bombs” and shower scrubs to shampoo, conditioner, perfume, makeup, and more.
Daisy is a five-year-old terrier mix who as a puppy was abandoned (and then rescued!) on the streets of California. She was born with a dislocated shoulder, elbows, and back hips, which resulted in a physical deformity. Thankfully, she is now able to play and run with the help of aids like prosthetic legs and a wheelchair. She’s a happy pup with lots of spunk and energy, and viewers from all over the world follow her adventures on social media. Her adoptive parent hopes that sharing Daisy’s story will help to spread the love and positive message of animals with special needs.
