On Sunday, March 25, animal lovers convened in NYC’s Union Square Park for the All for Love Adoption Rally, hosted by Petco Foundation (in partnership with MUTTS, WholeHearted Pets, and Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals).

The rally, which was part of Petco Foundation’s month-long “Love Changes Everything” campaign, featured adoptable animals from 20+ animal welfare organizations. It also included fun activities for animal lovers of all ages, including opportunities to take photos with Patrick McDonnell and his MUTTS characters Mooch and Earl.

At the event, Petco Foundation unveiled a huge photo mosaic in which more than 30,000 photos of adopted animals and their people were arranged to form artwork from the MUTTS comic strip. Radio and web show host Susan Richards commentated as Patrick placed the final photo: an image of himself with the original Earl.

The event was a remarkable success. In fact, many of the animal welfare organizations in attendance found forever homes for ALL of the animals they brought to the rally!

Here are a few of our favorite photos of the event.

A big thank you from Team MUTTS to everyone who participated in the Love Changes Everything campaign by donating, adopting, submitting to the photo mosaic, and/or raising awareness about shelter animals. You made a difference. Yesh!
