We’re happy to share that Patrick McDonnell was recently featured in Kind News Magazine, a children’s publication distributed by the animal welfare organization RedRover.

RedRover is a wonderful non-profit that provides emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, and financial assistance to animals in crisis situations. It also operates an educational program called RedRover Readers, designed to help children increase their empathy for animals and humans. (See our interview with RedRover’s CEO here.)

Kind News, created for K-6 students, is published every two months (September through May). It teaches kids about animals and how to care for them, and includes fun articles, games, and illustrations — including the MUTTS comic strip.

In Patrick’s interview for the September/October 2018 issue, he talks about the importance of kindness and shares his advice for aspiring cartoonists.

Want to check it out? You can see the full interview online at the Kind News Magazine Facebook page. To learn more about the magazine, or to get your own subscription, visit RedRover’s Kind News FAQ page.

I am a number one fan of EVERYTHING Mutts, but also love Red and Rover.
