Mooch & Millie: A Special Bond

Mooch the cat lives with his guardians Millie (also known as his "Shmillie") and Frank (also known as the guy who cleans the litter box). Like so many other cat parents, Millie's heart belongs to her precious kitty — despite his rambunctious antics. They share a special bond that's filled with sunny spots, silly love songs, cozy afternoons, and lots and lots of purrs.

Millie's days often begin at 5:30 in the morning ...

But cat naps with Mooch make up for early wake-ups.

Between snoozes, Millie showers Mooch with kisses.

She loves to feed him tasty meals ... but she never knows if she'll get the "shnub."

She might be married to Frank, but her heart belongs with her precious Moochie.

She has Mooch's back.

And he has Millie's.

They may not always see eye to eye.

But they understand each other.

Together, they're just right.

Every Mooch Has a Story: Notes From Readers

"The Mooch in my life is named Max, aka Funny Face. He is a Maine Coon mix who was born to a feral mother in our garage. He is large, furry, and insists on being oh-so-cuddly despite his size. We've had him for 11 years now. He follows me around just like a dog, and has the greatest, gentlest purr-sonality. He is one of my reasons for getting up in the morning, as he lets me know when the sun is up!"

Susan A.

"We named our rescue cat Mooch in honor of MUTTS' Mooch. We adopted him at four months of age. Soon, he'll be ten. He exhibits many Mooch-like behaviors, from those wild eyes when he wants to play, to the early wakeups for food, to glorying in being a lap kitty, and he is every family member's favorite nap companion."

Holly S.

"My Mooch is named Gus. We adopted him from the local animal shelter 3 years ago. He had been surrendered twice. But he was brave. He reached out of his cage to us, to get our attention. He needed the stability of a forever home and that's what we are giving him. Now he sits by me all day in the window of my home office. If I leave the house, he waits watching out the window until I return. We give each other companionship and love".

Jim

"Millie and Mooch remind me of my Chiplet and me! He sleeps next to me, with his head on my pillow and wakes me without fail by 4am — sometimes to get fed, sometimes to be brushed. The surprise “flying leg leaps” he launches means he’s in the mood to play. Each afternoon he reminds me it’s time for us to take a nap. He came into my life from a shelter 5 years ago though I’m not sure who actually got rescued, I’m honored to be his person."

Diane

"I have a very energetic tuxedo male, who I just had to name Moochie after your character. My Moochie was found by himself outside in the rain by a couple who isn’t fond of cats. Through a friend he became my everything! His zoomies include running over one end of the bed to the other, but not before he ‘pile dances’ (ie scratches) my four-poster bed. He terrorizes my other cat and has to ‘help’ any service people who come by. I wouldn’t have it any other way!"

Edie C.

"My Mooch was a tuxedo named Suzuki. I was his person. Suzuki would greet me when I got home from work, insisting that I get off my feet. When I settled on the couch, he would climb up on my chest, draping his head over my shoulder, and purr himself to a quick nap — and of course I would not move him until he was ready to greet the evening for a treat. Dinner would have to wait. He slept with me, often snuggled under my blanket. He was, and always will be, my special boy."
